Trams, Trolleybuses and Buses

Roath has a strong association with the Cardiff bus network mainly through having the the Roath Bus Depot on Newport Road (now demolished).  The depot was designed as a trolley bus depot but continued in operation after the trolley bus era had come to an end.

Railways

The ULTraGlobal driverless pod was to be the future of Cardiff urban transport at one stage in the early 2000s. They even built a 1 kilometre test track in Viking Place in Roath Docks. (pic credit: David Hurst)
